Why I’m going to the White House: Out of all the players from the ’85 Bears arriving on October 7th, I would probably say I am the most conservative. I live in the reddest of red states (Idaho) and I make a living with guns (owner of Lazy Bear Ranch)…I am also not a fan of the policies of the current President; however this is a celebration for the achievement of a great football team not a...

So… does Kessel take a photo of Ovi when he’s picked ahead of him at this year’s ASG draft? I sure hope so.

The following players are all among the 50 top paid NHLers this season - but, at about 20 games into the year, their stats sure don’t look like it. (Statistics accurate prior to Wednesday’s games).

“I had the hearing because I did make an initial assessment of the play as I do with all plays, but I did have some questions for Milan and I wanted to hear directly from him,” Shanahan told NHL.com. “They were regarding his intent; at what point did he know there was going to be a collision; and whether or not he felt he had the time to avoid the collision. I was satisfied...

Just Another Job This short film takes you behind the scenes of the Quebec Nordiques in 1972. Coached by the legendary Maurice Richard, the team is playing its opening World Hockey Association game at the Quebec Coliseum. Experience the pre-game tension, the on-ice action and the dream-contract signing. Man, I love the sounds of hockey. Also, the intro of this is pretty amazing.

The Ottawa Citizen: The Nickelback fiasco, or why... →
The team asked fans to submit potential goal songs and received 500 entries. From those, the Senators chose five finalists and decided to put it to a vote. Democracy in action! Except, like well-financed lobbyists, party bag men and a partisan judiciary, forces beyond the team’s control are fighting to get the result they want: The consistent humiliation of Ottawa Senators fans. I love...

The hockey community suffered another significant loss Wednesday in what has already been a tragic summer. According to the Associated Press, 36 people are dead and one is critically injured after the plane carrying the KHL’s Lokomotiv crashed while taking off in Yaroslavl, Russia. What an unbelievably terrible off-season.
