Puck Daddy: After Game 7 loss, Capitals' Laich... →
As first reported by Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post, Wangemann and her daughter were driving back from the game when their car hit a pot hole and the tire went flat:
So Mary Ann pulled over to the side of the bridge, and called Triple A. They said they had a heavy volume of calls, and that they weren’t sure how long it would take to send help. Mary Ann and Lorraine, still wearing...
Ted's Take: Congratulations to Montreal →
Caps’ owner, Ted Leonsis, classy in defeat, gives some much deserved congratulations to the Habs.
If great owners make great franchises, Washington fans won’t need to worry about this year’s loss too much.
Our newest member to the Slapshot team is Wyatt Arndt and he will be periodically contributing a commentary for the 2010 Stanley Cup run among other things… His writings are quite humorous, enjoy.

Marian Hossa will not be suspended for dirty hit →
I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. I’ve just noticed in the last couple of seasons that there are a lot of should be penalties that aren’t called and a lot of non-penalties that are called. One example: when Doughty, or Brown (whoever it was) got their stick caught in Sedin’s visor a couple of games ago and there was no high sticking call made. How much...

But that kind of call shouldn’t be only for repeat offenders. It was a dirty play and exactly the same thing that Ovechkin did to Campbell. My argument here is that if you want to be consistent and let players/refs/fans know what a penalty is then call it. If a guy trips another guy that never trips anyone then he shouldn’t get a penalty because he never usually trips a guy?...

Injustice! Just some more inconsistent ruling by the NHL.
Hey Gary Bettman! No one knows what’s a penalty or what constitutes a suspension anymore.
We didn’t get what we really wanted. And we wanted the Stanley Cup.

– Ilya Kovalchuck. It’s unsure where Ilya will end up next year but my guess is Toronto.
Case of the missing puck.
Niemi makes a save and the puck disappears. After the refs and a few players poke around for it Toews comes by and saves the day.
Canuckleheads and crackpot theories →
You see I’ve seen this before. Remember Brett Hull’s Stanley Cup-winning goal back in 1999? I was there and saw that referees Terry Gregson and Bill McCreary were on the ice when that controversial goal was scored. Both officials played dumb like everything was good and not subject to any review and guess who’s the NHL Director of Officiating now? Well it’s Gregson and who...
I don’t necessarily believe in that so much … Everybody knows that...

Somebody’s all psyched up for another stellar playoff performance! Way to wear that “A” with pride, buddy.

Really TSN? Really?
It’s okay to admit that your favorite team sucked Brian Burkes wrinkly old ball sac this season. I know you’re in denial and your trying to scrape up any bit of a justifiable reason for for a team that hardly had any motivation to win. Close the book on Toronto for this year and focus your attention on a couple of the Canadian teams that have a shot at the cup.
